Red Dog Rendezvous - National Toller Meetup 2026

Join us on Waitangi weekend (6th-8th February) for a fun social meet-up for Nova Scotia Duck Tolling Retrievers and their owners!
A relaxed weekend of activities, learning, and great company with fellow Toller lovers, with something for everyone!

We will be kicking off Friday evening - Friday 6th February, 5:30pm, at the Manakau Hall - 12 Mokena Kohere Street, Manakau, Horowhenua.
with a fun Ribbon Parade and a Pet First Aid Presentation.

  • Official opening - collect your official attendance bag

  • Handling skills for the show ring  

  • Ribbon Parade - for all the dogs present to show their stuff (as well as their waggiest tail and best tricks) Entry fees extra and taken on the day

  • Pizza dinner (optional) Catering charge at $15 head extra.

  • Pet First Aid Presentation -We’re excited to welcome Dr Rhea Hurley, Certified Vet Behaviourist, for an informative and practical Pet First Aid Presentation (Toller Club Members: Free of charge, Non-Members: $5). This session is suitable for all dog owners and is expected to be very popular — we recommend arriving early.

On the Saturday 7th February we will be at Hank Edwards Reserve on Waikawa Beach, Horowhenua, with a bunch of fun activities and dog sport introductions suitable for everyone to try including:

  • Agility & Hoopers -

  • Rally-O

  • Fly Ball

  • Gundog activities (retrieving and tolling - test those natural toller skills!)

  • Social time and meet-up for dogs (and their humans!) with a picnic lunch provided.

This will be followed by a BBQ dinner in the evening - bring a plate to share and maybe something for the barbie if you want more than sausages.

Finally, on Sunday 8th February we will be back at Manakau Hall - 12 Mokena Kohere Street, Manakau, Horowhenua, for an Introduction to Scentwork - presentation, demo and then hands on chance to test those noses in this super fun activity based on the work of detection dog!

This weekend is all about connection, fun, and celebrating our red dogs!
